Dr. Benjamim José de Samussone Chilenge

Born on December 30, 1963 in Lago, Niassa Province, north Mozambique and has a degree in Business Administration, by the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), and joined the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME) in 1983.

While at MIREM, he held various positions, including those of Head of the Labor Organization and Wages Section (OTS); Head of the Department of Administration and Finance, National Director of Planning and Development and Advisor to the Minister.

From 1998 to 2007, he worked for ENH as Accounting and Finance Administrator and cumulatively served as Administrator of CMG and CMH. He worked as project manager for the following projects: Pande Gas Engineering Project, Credit n.2629 MOZ, World Bank financing; Technical Assistance to ENH, Project MOZ 2469, funded by NORAD; Energy Reform and Access Project (ERAP), Credit n. 3819 MOZ, World Bank financing; And the Mining and Gas Technical Assistance Project (MAGTAP), funded by the World Bank and DFID.

He was a member of the negotiating team for contracts for the acquisition of natural gas production rights; Sharing of natural gas production; Construction of the pipeline; Commercial contracts; And operating contracts for the Pande/Temane natural gas project in Mozambique and the gas pipeline to Secunda (RSA).

He was Deputy Chief of the Government Negotiating Team in the Rovuma Basin Project (LNG) Areas 1 and 4, represented by the Operators and Concessionaires Anadarko and Eni respectively.

He led the negotiation teams of financing agreements for CMH and CMG to participate in the Pande/Temane natural gas project and the Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Company (ROMPCO).

He coordinated the first operation to sell 10% of CMH´s shareholding exclusively to singulars and mostly Mozambican companies.

From 2000 to 2007 he was elected as the Chairman of the Fiscal Council at Matola Gas Company (MGC) and later, 2010, he was the Coordinator of the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI), having led Mozambique to qualify for the Initiative in 2012.

From 2002 to 2017 he was nominated a Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Company (ROMPCO) Board Director were also acted as Chairman.

He is currently ENH Commercial VP and Chairman of the CMH's Fiscal Council, among other responsibilities.

He is married and has four children.
